World Humanitarian Summit: Global Consultation
Co-Chairs' Summary
WHS Given the growing scale of humanitarian needs around the world and an ever more complex humanitarian landscape, the Secretary-General called for the first-ever World Humanitarian Summit, which will be held in Istanbul, Turkey on 23 and 24 May 2016. As a culmination of an inclusive multi-stakeholder process over eighteen months and engaging more than 23,000 people in over 151 countries, the Global Consultation was held in Geneva, Switzerland, from 14 to 16 October 2015. The Government of Switzerland hosted the Global Consultation and co-chaired it with the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs. (pdf)
